What does remote IT support cost?

A Geek On Demand remote IT support is a flat $100 per session — no travel fee, no hourly meter.

Plenty of computer problems never need someone at your door. When that's the case, remote support is faster and cheaper — here's exactly what it costs and what it can solve.

The short answer

Remote IT support from A Geek On Demand is a flat $100 per session. We connect over a secure screen-share — or walk you through it by phone — and resolve software, email, account, and setup problems without anyone coming to your home. Because it's remote there's no travel fee and no hourly meter: one flat rate covers the session. If a problem turns out to need hands on the hardware, we'll tell you before switching to an on-site visit, which is billed at our standard $150 hourly rate.

What it costs

What does remote IT support cost? — typical price estimates by service
ServicePrice
Remote support session$100 flat
On-site visit (if needed)$150 / hr

Remote support is a flat per-session rate, not hourly. If a problem can't be solved remotely we'll say so before any on-site work — on-site visits are billed at our standard $150 hourly rate.

Common questions

What can you actually fix remotely?+

A lot — software installs and updates, email and account setup, slow-computer tune-ups, virus cleanup that doesn't need hardware work, printer and cloud configuration, and plain how-do-I questions. Anything that doesn't require physically touching the hardware is usually a candidate.

Is remote support secure?+

Yes. We use a per-session screen-share tool that you start and can end at any time, you watch everything we do on your screen, and access closes when the session ends. We never leave anything installed that can reconnect without you.

Why a flat $100 instead of hourly?+

Remote sessions are usually quick and predictable, so a flat $100 is simpler and friendlier than watching a clock. If a job is genuinely too big for one session, we'll talk through the best option before doing more.
